Annotated intake transcripts
Demonstration transcripts, not client matters. They include the
unflattering cases: the inquiry that was declined, and the moment the
assistant refuses to answer.
After-hours probate, first contact at 11:40pm
A daughter whose father died four days earlier reaches the firm
through the website form. The assistant replies in writing inside a
minute, acknowledges the death without performance, captures county,
approximate estate value, whether a will exists and whether probate has
opened, and books a consult with the probate partner at 9:30am.
Declined inquiry, below the asset minimum
A caller with a $40,000 estate and no real property. The assistant
applies the firm's stated minimum, declines courteously, and refers out
to a legal aid clinic and the county self-help center. No consult slot
is spent, and the firm has the transcript.
Refusal, caller asks for legal advice
A caller asks whether he can contest his stepmother's trust. The
assistant says that only an attorney at the firm can answer that,
records the facts, and escalates the thread to a named attorney rather
than guessing.
Voicemail folded into the thread
A missed call is transcribed into the same written thread as the form
submission, so the family has one conversation and the firm has one
record.
