1. Who we are
The service is provided by altomic.ai, operated by Mohamed Abdi. For questions about these terms, email mohamed@altomic.ai.
2. Your agreement with us
By using the service on behalf of your firm, you confirm that you are authorized to do so. These terms apply alongside your firm's signed agreement. If they conflict, the signed agreement controls. These terms do not replace the firm's engagement terms with its own clients.
3. The service
Our AI intake assistant answers inquiries on your firm's website, asks your firm's screening questions, books consultations, and logs contacts and conversation transcripts to Clio or Lawmatics. The features, integration permissions and booking arrangements for your firm are defined in its signed agreement and configured during setup.
4. Not legal advice
The assistant is for intake and scheduling only. It must never give legal advice, interpret legal documents or make legal decisions. Using it does not form an attorney-client relationship. Your firm remains responsible for supervising the tool, checking its responses, deciding whether to accept a client, completing conflict checks and making all legal decisions. AI can make mistakes; do not treat its output as an attorney's judgment.
5. Firm responsibilities
Your firm must provide accurate, current screening questions, approved responses, consultation availability and escalation contacts. Review escalations promptly, supervise ongoing conversations and tell us when instructions or access permissions change. Your firm is responsible for complying with applicable laws and its bar rules, including disclosing AI use and obtaining consent where required. Keep account credentials secure and grant only the access needed to operate the service.
6. Fees and billing
Build fees, recurring fees, payment dates, cancellation notice and any refunds are governed by your firm's signed agreement. Our pricing page describes the public offering; your signed agreement controls the amounts your firm owes. A later pricing-page change does not by itself change your agreed fees.
7. Data handling
Read our Privacy policy and Security and data handling page for how information is handled, stored, accessed and deleted. Your firm remains responsible for its own records and retention obligations. Deleting information from our service does not delete the firm's copy in Clio or Lawmatics. Any signed data-processing or security agreement also applies.
8. Acceptable use
Use the service only for lawful, authorized firm intake. Do not use it to give automated legal advice, mislead people, send unsolicited marketing, discriminate unlawfully, or collect information you have no right to process. Do not attempt unauthorized access, bypass safeguards, introduce malicious code, or disrupt the service. Report suspected misuse or a security problem to us promptly.
9. Availability
We work to keep the service available, but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, internet failures and outages at calendar, CRM or other providers can affect it. Your firm should maintain another way for people to contact it and should not rely on the assistant for emergencies or legal deadlines. Any specific service-level commitment must be stated in your signed agreement.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, neither party is liable to the other for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, arising from the service. Any liability cap or exclusions in your firm's signed agreement control. If it contains no liability cap, our total liability arising from the service is limited to the fees your firm paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not apply to fraud, willful misconduct, or liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
11. Suspension and termination
Either party may end the service under the notice and termination terms in the signed agreement. We may suspend access when reasonably necessary to address misuse, a serious security risk or overdue fees, and will notify your firm and give an opportunity to resolve the issue where practical. On termination, outstanding fees remain payable under the agreement. Data handover, retention and deletion follow the signed agreement and our published data policies.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms and will publish the revised version with a new last-updated date. We will notify active firms in writing of material changes before they take effect. Updates do not override a signed agreement; changes to that agreement must follow its own amendment process.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute process agreed in your firm's signed agreement controls.
